Meaning bandname: Named after a song by Naked Raygun

History: Rat Patrol exists since 1988 in the same linup and are influenced by really all sort of things, from 77 punk to the loudest hatecore. The first 2 albums are recorded at Joke’s Rent-a-Cow in Amsterdam and released on the bands own label ‘Highly Obscure Records’. Because the second album did pretty good, a CD with both releases could be released at the end of 1992. The 3rd album Pain Killer is recorded in the Bunt’s Studio in Utrecht and after 1997 they decide to take a little slower and only a few gigs each year are done. In 2007 the 4th album is recorded with alot of help from Peter “El Gordo” Haaima from Gate Crashers. In december 2018 a next album is released and recorded at Soundlodge in Germany. This is also where the “Nothing Comes From Nothing” release is recorded in 2022. Roelof does the very last concert on 01.04.2023.

Lyrics: Lyrics are important, but more to give rise to discussion or thinking, than to show a pointed finger. Half of the lyrics on Doing Just Fine are more personal than before.
