(Amsterdam, 1978 – 1983)

Bio: Formed by guitarplayers Alex Grigny and Peter Sinnige end of October 1978. Singer Ronald Tang wins the first prize in a talentshow and is asked to come sing. Rehearse in the squat Huize Chaos in the Sarphatistraat 85 and later in the cellar of the Paradiso venue where they share it with On/Off and The Scene. Needless to say, they were a very regular replacement for bands that did not show up for their Paradiso concerts and hold the record for playing there most times (53). Alex Grigny is replaced by Carlo Edel and soon they change their musical style to reggae and popmusic. At the end of 1981 Marjan Schnitger joins on keyboard. Ronald Tang leaves the band for a while to focus on his sound system and Marjan, Carlo and Peter take over the vocals. In the beginning of 1982 the Amstel 7” is recorded in the studio of Stichting Popmuziek Nederland in the Wibautstraat in Amsterdam. Rob Ottes and Marjan Schnitzinger leave the band that same year. Various drummers join, Simone Mansveld also does the vocals and the 1982 tape is recorded. Ottes and Tang return and Carlo Edel starts to play bass while Hans Sinnige joins on keyboard. A couple of concerts are done in 1983 before the band splits up.
