Meaning Bandname: Invented by Kaar.
Bio: From Schiedam. After Ben Lansers return from the Mont de Marsan punkfestival in France at the end of August 1977, he and Kaar start Sweathearts. Rehearsals take place in the attic of the squat Laan in Schiedam and later in studio Kampoe in the Bellevoystraat, which is ran by a bunch of Suri’s who themselves play in the reggae band “Easy”.
Evert, the bass player studies Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Delft and gets them their first gig at the punk stage in the cellar of the faculty of Architectural Engineering (Bouwkunde feest). In 1978 they change the name in the G-Strings but the band splits up in 1979 after the departure of the singer.
