Review:
It took 2 years to finish this project. And what a great endproduct it is! This is about the 50 year anniversary of the Buze venue in Steenwijk. This place always has a very special place in my heart because here I did my very first concert with a band in the summer of 1983. After this, I visited and played the place around 30 times. Needless to say they interviewed me and eventually I got 2 pages. There was too much to tell because in the 80s they did not only do the Queensday and X-mas punk festivals, but also alot of concerts and fests on other dates. The book is divided in 5 chapters which are timelines starting with the beginning in 1974-1980. The punkperiod starts in the next, 1980-1989, timeline. Harry Grafitex who did the posters (and the De Melkboer Strikes Back fanzine) and also played in Stanx, still has them all and the book shows them all. The layout and design is great with numerous images combined with interviews and articles. The only downside is the missing of two trashfests in 2007 & 2008 (both 4 days with tons of bands and visitors), that started 7 years earlier as a one day fest in Hoogeveen. And there is no (punk) concertlist, which is obligatory in my opinion. For the rest, this is highly recommended! Too bad there were only 150 printed. PP *****
