Welvaartsstaat is an initiative of Peter Luining (aka Slonz) and Chris Smit (The Chops). The label releases mostly limited tapes of own bands in the early 80’s. After other bands ask for release, they put out two compilation tapes that give a good view of the alternative scene from that moment. In 1982 Peter starts working with Nanno Van Delden on the Blok 5 fanzine. Half of the releases in the catalogue were never made (“punk meets situationist theory”). Peter Luining releases the “Made In Brazil” on Hox-Ha-Tape Tapes in 1985 and moves to Amsterdam in 1989.
