(1962 – 1996)

Makes part of the town hall and looks down on the Herestraat, the busiest street of Groningen. In 1988 the stairs were for a big part shut down with a gate because the airlift between the old and the new townhall was not used anymore. As soon as the sun was shining, these stairs became some sort of city terrace. This was a very popular hangout for punx.
