(Rotterdam, 1980-1997)

Meaning Bandname: The riot squad in dutch is called Mobiele Eenheid. The bandname is a wordplay: Debiele means moron hence Debiele Eenheid means Moron Squad.

Bio: Formed in the Jazzbunker. They start with 2 drummers and quickly got a reputation as the most deranged, explosive, and uninhibited jazz-punk band. In the beginning, singer Jorem often sported a strap-on dildo. Each performance featured a different act like fooling around with small fishnet shirts, peanut butter or shaving foam. For example, in 1981 they managed to play as support for the incredibly popular Herman Brood in a rather posh club. Mario put peanut butter in his butt and during the show Jorem would grab hands full of that butter from Marios’ ass and ate it. People fleed away vomiting. Everyone didn’t give a shit about anything. Bassplayer Mario was jailed for 2 years  in 1977 for a bankrobbery and shootings at the American and German consulate (revenge for the deaths of Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhoff in Stamheim). After 1983 the band concentrated more on the music. Lyrics were never political, on the contrary even. There were some periods when the band did nothing. Because of a chronic lack of a drummer, lineups constantly change (the early lineups had Ron Verbeek and Lange Kees on and off as a drummer). In the nineties they had Stevie Dewar from Political Asylum on guitar. Below are the most steady lineups. (who knows what exactly happened in the 90s, write!)
