(Breda, 1981 – 1982)

Meaning Bandname: They wanted a name with numbers and German language. 0038 sounded pretty good and refers to Gerrie. Die Kleine refers to Jolanda and Ruth (they’re both small). Die Dose refers to Jaap.

Bio: Forms in 1981 as 0038 Und Die Kleine because they wanted to express their anger towards the government (housing shortage, capitalism, nuclear energy, no future) and to have a band for fun. When Jaap replaces Drumstick, the band became 0038 Und Die Kleine Und Die Dose. Practises in the Para club and only play own songs. A bunch of songs appear in the documentary “Vlucht over de Waslijn” from Joost Seelen about four youth cultures in Breda (he makes the well-known “De Stad Was Van Ons” in 1996). They all make the Ranja fanzine. Ends in 1982 because they didn’t give it a 100%.
