(Wormer/Wormerveer/Krommenie, 1982-1983)

Meaning Bandname: At the time, there was a brass band by the same name in Wormer; we adopted that name.

Bio: The band was founded by Laurens Vredevoort and Jan Sierhuis. Laurens played guitar in the band Zwembaden and was unhappy with the musical direction—or, rather, the lack thereof. We were in the same class at secondary school (HAVO) and decided to join forces. He knew a bass player, and my brother was a drummer.

Initially, rehearsals were in the storage unit of the bass player’s apartment building, then in the garage of Laurens’s parents, and finally in an old fire station in Wormerveer, where other punk bands from Wormer also rehearsed.

The band eventually split up due to disagreements regarding the musical direction: Jan and Ard wanted a harder, more aggressive sound, while Laurens and Luis preferred to lean more toward melodic post-punk.

Description: Opinions were divided when it came to punk/post-punk.
